OCI Celebrates Major Milestone with Independent Audit Results

Drummond Group Announces LedgerDomain, Legisym, and Spherity Have Completed OCI Conformance Program Audits

Durham, NC, March 18, 2024 – The Open Credentialing Initiative (OCI), as part of its mission to advance the pharmaceutical industry's journey towards fully electronic interoperability and security,  is pleased to announce the completion of compliance audits by three key stakeholders: LedgerDomain, Legisym, and Spherity. These audits mark significant strides towards meeting the U.S. Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) mandates for enhanced drug distribution security by November 27, 2024.

Drummond Group, LLC, an authority in compliance, standards, and cybersecurity testing, has certified LedgerDomain, Legisym, and Spherity under the OCI Digital Wallet and OCI Credential Issuer Conformance Criteria. This accomplishment underscores the collaborative effort to establish a secure, interoperable framework in support of the FDA's mandate for “all electronic” enhanced drug distribution security.

By demonstrating compliance with the OCI Conformance Program, OCI members have also met the requirements of the Partnership for DSCSA Governance (PDG) Foundational Blueprint for 2023 Interoperability. The FDA public-private partnership’s Blueprint recognizes and incorporates the OCI requirements in support of PDG-compliant digital interactions for both verification and tracing.

“With over 25 years of conformance certification testing and auditing experience, Drummond was a natural choice to help drive OCI specifications through to production.”
– Aaron Gomez, Supply Chain Security Business Unit Leader

“Drummond Group’s professionalism and thoroughness makes us better and ensures our solution offerings exceed expectations.”
– David Kessler, Co-Owner and President of Legisym; OCI Steering Committee Co-Chair

“Trust isn’t something that can be granted in the digital age; it has to be earned. Drummond’s independent expert assessment of our systems and controls has proven invaluable—not just a certification but a validation of our hard work bringing robust interoperable software into production.”
– Alex Colgan, Head of Marketing & Partnerships at LedgerDomain; Co-Chair of OCI’s Steering and Policy & Architecture Committees

“It was an insightful and gratifying experience to see the OCI Digital Wallet Conformance Criteria come to life not only in our Digital Wallet implementation but also through the independent assessment by a third-party auditor. Drummond has shown the professional curiosity and flexibility that a pioneering audit firm requires to apply their long-standing expertise in a new context.”
– Dr. Christiane Wirrig, Spherity Customer Success Manager; OCI Policy & Architecture Co-Chair

“The third-party audits resulted in a higher level of refinement and clarity in OCI specifications.”
– Bob Celeste, OCI Executive Director

OCI invites industry partners and stakeholders to join in its efforts to ensure a secure, efficient, and compliant pharmaceutical supply chain, ready to meet the future demands of healthcare and patient safety.
