Overview
The Open Credentialing Initiative (OCI) is a collaborative, non-profit initiative formed by a group of trading partners, solution providers, and standard organizations to support the pharmaceutical industry in adopting credentialing and digital wallet technologies, enhancing supply chain security, and thus the protection of consumers.
The initiative establishes specifications, guidelines, and standards to support industry-wide adoption of credentialing. The Open Credentialing Initiative establishes a universal, interoperable and scalable technical foundation for credentialing.
OCI was born out of a pilot project supporting DSCSA compliance for Authorized Trading Partner (ATP) requirements. While incubating the piloted solution and standardizing the architecture, the industry started adopting and testing the developed solution. Beyond supporting the standardization of the ATP architecture, OCI establishes a structure to run further credential-based pilots and incubate solutions.
